Upcoming waste collection days

The next household hazardous waste collection day for Dartmouth residents will be on Saturday, September 21 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Crapo Hill Landfill, 300 Samuel Barnet Blvd., New Bedford.

ID is required. Households only; no businesses, schools, or contractors.

All types of household hazardous wastes will be accepted including oil-based paints, paint thinner and waste fuels. No latex paints. Latex may be dried out and thrown away in the regular trash.

Annual flyers will be mailed to Dartmouth the first week of April.

Tire recycling day for Dartmouth residents will be on Saturday, September 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Shawmut Avenue Transfer Station, 1103 Shawmut Ave, New Bedford. ID required.

Car tires are $1 each, light truck tires are $5 each, and heavy duty truck tires are $15 each (no more than 6.) Rims are ok. No commercial loads, off road equipment tires, or tires with a rim diameter greater than 24 inches.

Paper shredding day will take place on Saturday, October 5 from 9 a.m. to noon in the parking lot across from New Bedford City Hall (corner of William St. and North 6th St.) No residency requirement and no fee. Limit of two boxes per person.
