Updated: Juvenile stabbing altercation pre-arranged over social media, police believe
Two juveniles were transported to the hospital following a reported stabbing in the Dartmouth Mall parking lot outside Five Below on Sunday, June 23 at approximately 2:50 p.m., according to Dartmouth Police.
Police believe the altercation was pre-arranged over social media.
A 16-year-old male from New Bedford was found at the scene with what appeared to be “non-life-threatening” injuries sustained during the altercation, police said.
However, Chief Brian Levesque said the first juvenile was “more seriously injured than the other,” a 16-year-old male from Fall River.
Police located the second juvenile, after he fled the scene on a bicycle, at the Lowes at 55 Faunce Corner Mall Road.
Both juveniles were arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to Dartmouth Police. The incident is still under investigation and additional charges may be forthcoming.
