A long time summer resident, William “Bill” Potter passed away in April 2023 at the age of 82. Close to 40 friends and family members gathered at his childhood summer home on Potomska, Road, South Dartmouth on September 23, 2024 to celebrate his life.

A Mensa member, super sharp octogenarian, President of his Fraternity at Middlebury College, business man, husband, father, Uncle to many, and Manager of his family property “Chaypee Hill Farm”, Bill’s life and contributions were celebrated with a fall themed memorial focused on being “grateful” for his candor, sense of humor, generosity and love. The family spoke highly of him and enjoyed signature cocktails, wine, and food by Chef Scott Conroy before scattering his ashes on the land he greatly loved overlooking the Slocum River.

Bill Potter is greatly missed and “always teared up every fall when he closed up the summer house in South Dartmouth for the winter”
