On Saturday, July 1, 2023 the Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society will celebrate the country’s birthday with a traditional picnic and a concert by the Dartmouth Community Band under the direction of John Furtado.

This will all take place on the lawn at the headquarters of the Russells Mills Schoolhouse at 1205 Russells Mills Road. The picnic will begin at 4:00 PM and the band will commence playing at 5 PM.

Members, friends and their guests are welcome and encouraged to bring blankets, picnics, chairs and chaises for maximum comfort. The Community Band will play music.

This traditional event was started back when the town library occupied the building, which is now the headquarters of the Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society. The rain date is Sunday, July 2, at the same time and place.
