Dartmouth Education Foundation announces 2016 grant awards

Jun 15, 2016

The Dartmouth Education Foundation has awarded more than $21,000 in grants for 14 projects for the 2016 school year.

The grants will fund new technology, reading enrichment materials, and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) tools for learning. Founded in 2008, the Foundation's mission is to help enrich and enhance the educational experience for the students of the Dartmouth Public Schools.

“Members of the Board of Directors consulted Superintendent Bonnie Gifford and Chief Technology Officer, Johnathan Galishaw, to clarify Dartmouth Public School Administration plans for the purchase of any new technology in 2016-2017 school year,” said Dartmouth Education Foundation Chair John Beauregard.

Wherever possible, the Dartmouth Education Foundation wanted to consider a teacher’s request that would not receive funding through other means, Beauregard noted.

The Education Foundation will host its 6th annual Spelling Bee—its largest annual fundraiser—on Thursday, November 3, 2016 to provide funding for the annual teacher grant cycle. The event will take place at Dartmouth High School, 555 Bakerville Road.
