Sunday, July 31: causeway OPEN

According to the Department of Public Works, the Padanaram Causeway—reaching from Water Street, over the Padanaram bridge, and to the Smith Neck-Gulf roads intersection—is supposed to close Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

The Padanaram Causeway Rehabilitation project—led by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT)—initially shut down the area on July 6, briefly reopened for the July 8 weekend, and the aforementioned notice went into effect on July 13. At a Select Board meeting on July 25, MassDOT said the causeway would be closed longterm (until July 2018) starting August 1.
