Dr. Charles R. Morin joins medical staff at Southcoast Behavioral Health
DARTMOUTH, Mass. — Southcoast Behavioral Health today announced the addition of Dr. Charles R. Morin, psychiatrist, to the medical staff. In his new role, Dr. Morin will oversee the day-to-day operation of the newly-opened, 24-bed geriatric unit.
Dr. Morin previously worked at Coastal Research Associates in Weymouth and Braintree, and Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He served as Medical Director of Emergency Department Psychiatric Services at both South Shore Hospital in Weymouth and Neurobehavioral Associates, as well as Chief of Staff for Kohala Hospital in Hawaii. He also maintained a private practice in Cohasset for more than 20 years.
Dr. Morin earned his medical degree from Brown University. He is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and a diplomat for the American Board of Psychiatry and National Board of Medical Examiners. He is certified by the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology.
Dr. Morin maintains membership in the following professional societies: American Neuropsychiatric Association, American College of Physician Executives, American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry, American Psychiatric Association and the Massachusetts Psychiatric Society.
He is known in the industry for his research on major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and psychosis associated with dementia of the Alzheimer’s type. Dr. Morin has also been a Geriatric Medical Columnist with Haverhill Gazette and weekly Medical Columnist with West Hawaii Today.
