Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Christopher Robertson joins Southcoast Health
DARTMOUTH, Mass. — Southcoast Health announced today that Christopher Robertson, MD, orthopedic surgeon, has joined Southcoast Physicians Group, and will practice at 300A Faunce Corner Road in Dartmouth.
Dr. Robertson graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, before completing medical school at the University of Calgary in Alberta.
He completed an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and completed several post-graduate fellowships at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Ontario. He also completed a master’s degree in medical science focused on ACL surgery while at the University of Toronto during this time.
A fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, he is also a member of the Canadian Orthopedic Association and Canadian Association of Sports Medicine. With more than 17 years of experience in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Dr. Robertson is trained to care for and identify all forms of injuries of the musculoskeletal system, including joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles and bones. He has a specific interest in sports medicine and shoulder arthritis and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Robertson has served in several positions with professional and collegiate sports teams, including six years as the team physician for North Dakota State University women’s basketball team. He continues to be a member of the medical team providing support to the Canadian National Alpine Ski Team.
In his spare time, Dr. Robertson enjoys sailing, skiing, hockey, squash and tennis, among other outdoor activities. He speaks French as a second language.
