Dartmouth police are investigating a crash that sent a Hyde Park man to the hospital on October 1.

According to police, an 18-year-old Hyde Park man, later identified as Ted Sauvignon, was struck by a motor vehicle in the area of 64 Chase Road at about 5:20 a.m.

Police said he was struck by a 2008 Honda Accord, which was being driven by a 22-year-old Dartmouth woman. Her identity was not immediately available, but according to Dartmouth Police Det. Kyle Costa, no charges or citations have been issued or filed in the case.

Despite the proximity to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Costa said Sauvignon was not a student there.

Sauvignon was transported to Saint Luke's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police. The crash is under investigation by the Dartmouth Police Crash Reconstruction Unit.
