Travel talk featuring author Holly FitzGerald, March 24

Dartmouth author Holly FitzGerald and travel non-profit The Wandering Scholar will host a discussion on transformative travel on March 24, 4 p.m., at Farm and Coast Market.

The event will include a coffee and chocolate tasting featuring flavors from Peru, and a discussion on travel and resilience with Dartmouth author Holly FitzGerald. Her debut book, Ruthless River: Love and Survival by Raft on the Amazon’s Relentless Madre de Dios was recently named the best survival book of 2017 by Outside Magazine.

The talk will highlight how travel experiences can help people discover a more resilient inner self and the importance of travel experiences for young adults.

Check-in begins at 4 p.m., and the coffee and chocolate tasting begins at 4:15 p.m. The talk begins at 4:30 p.m. and ends with a 5 p.m. mix and mingle.

The event is hosted by The Wandering Scholar, a non-profit organization which provides international travel and learning opportunities to high schoolers from underrepresented and low-income backgrounds.
