The Gleason Family YMCA is hosting their annual 5k Road Race on Saturday, May 20th at 9:00 a.m. in the lovely seaside Village of Onset.  This will the last year the Y will host this USATF certified course in Onset so now is your last chance to try our challenging course as a runner or walker. The race start and finish will be at the Onset Village Pier and awards are given to the Top 3 Overall Male and Female runners. Awards are also presented to the Top 3 Finishers both Male and Female in the following age categories: 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over. The Top 3 Walkers of the course will also be recognized with an award.  Registration is $25 for adults, $15 for children 14 and under, and Veterans & Military with valid military ID is discounted to $20. Registration can be done online at Runreg.com, at the Gleason Family YMCA Welcome Center 33 Charge Pond Road Wareham, or on race day starting at 7:30 a.m. at the Onset Village Pier. Registration fee’s increase to $30 and $17 after April 28, 2018 so sign up early as a free t-shirt is given to the first 100 registrants. Timing and results done by JB Race and results are promptly posted on www.jbrace.com. Refreshments will be served while race results are tallied and after the awards ceremony there will be raffles for race participants on site. In honor of Armed Forces Day there will be a patriotic them and patriotic gear is optional but encouraged for participants and spectators. Come support our runners and walkers if you cannot participate!
