Florence May Cieplik, 94

Florence May (Catterall) Cieplik, 94, of North Dartmouth, died on March 26 at Sacred Heart Nursing Home.

She was the wife of the late Henry Cieplik. She was the daughter of the late Frederick C. Catterall Sr. and Mabel J. (Campbell) Catterall and sister of the late Frederick C. Catterall Jr.

Born in New Bedford, she was a lifelong resident of the New Bedford and Dartmouth area. She was a homemaker and throughout her life worked at various factory jobs and as a childcare provider.

Her hobbies included being a Girl Scout leader, roller skating, doll collecting and motorcycle riding with her husband.

She was also an accomplished cake baker and decorator and was commonly known as “Mrs. C” or “The Cake Lady.”

Survivors include her daughter Patricia F. (Cieplik) Stinson and her husband Ralph E. of Mattapoisett; her son Alan Cieplik of Indianapolis, Indiana; two grandsons Peter Ziemba and his wife Maria of Fall River and Dwayne T. Stinson of Mattapoisett; a “granddaughter” Margaret Donovan of Somerset; and a godson John Thomas Catterall of Mattapoisett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
