Local experts will lead a Native Shrub Walk at Stone Barn Farm on June 16.

The program, hosted by Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary, will include identification of shrubs along trails at the property. Participants will learn to identify both native and invasive spcies, along with tips and tricks for ridding land from invasives. Medicinal and uses by Native Americans will also be discussed.

The program will include an approximately 3-mile hike over uneven terrain.

The cost to attend is $10 for members and $12 for non-members. It is is supported in part by a grant from the Westport Local Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
