Police searching for driver who allegedly struck child

Dartmouth Police are looking for the driver of a red Ford Focus who allegedly hit a child on May 29 while the child was crossing the street and then left the scene.

At around 6:30 p.m. a 12-year-old was crossing the intersection of Slocum Road and Hawthorn Street when they were hit by a vehicle, according to police Det. Kyle Costa.

The child sustained minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital, Costa said.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
