The “longstanding problem property” at 718 Reed Road is now being cleaned up, announced Town Administrator Shawn MacInnes at the Oct. 30 Select Board meeting. 

The Conservation Commission approved the cleanup, which started on Oct. 23. 

Select Board member Shawn McDonald said he would like the town to look into acquiring the property so that residents may have access to Noquochoke Lake. McDonald said a park or “passive recreational spot” would be best. 

“It would just be so much better than what it is now and I don’t think anyone in that neighborhood would have a problem with that,” McDonald said.
