Chick-fil-A opened its first location in Dartmouth, located at 286 State Road in the Dartmouth Mall plaza on Friday, Sept. 12.

The location  is owned and operated by Julie Gallagher, a Mattapoisset resident who previously owned and operated a Chick-fil-A in Fall River. 

It has 110 new team members, including leadership team members from Fall River.

Gallagher joined the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which donates surplus food to local charities and partnered with the New Bedford Salvation Army to donate surplus food.

Chick-fil-A donated $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new location opening, and Gallagher said they are donating $25,000 to the Greater Boston Food Bank. 

Guests who showed up in cow print, whether in the form of nails or a full cow costume on opening day could choose a free breakfast or lunch from a designated menu. Emma Ingram from Chick-FIl-A said they have seen everything within that range during past openings.
