Party for the veterans.

Partners in Housing’s cocktail party will run from 1-4 p.m. at Fay’s Restaurant, 613 Dartmouth Street. The party will feature hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction, and a cash bar with a $35 ticket donation to benefit the  O'Connor-Sisson House for Veterans on State Road.

Ferment.

Learn how to make kimchi, Korea’s national dish, at Round the Bend Farm, 92 Allen Neck Road, from 1-4:30 p.m. The free class will feature instruction on preparing the vegetable dish. Those attending can bring a quart-sized container to take some home at the end of the class. For more information, visit roundthebendfarm.org.

Discover nature.

The Lloyd Center’s Nature Discoveries program continues from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the center, 430 Potomska Road. The drop-in program features live animal demonstrations, specimens to observe and touch, hikes, and crafts. It is appropriate for children ages 2-6, but younger or older siblings are also welcomed.
