Alice (Hilario) Morais, age 86, of Dartmouth, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Hathaway Manor. She was the beloved wife of the late Henrique Morais for 60 years.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Abilio and Germana (Alves DeMoura) Hilario, she moved to Vilar de Pardezes Portugal at the age of 2 with her family, before moving to New Bedford in 1959 and then moved to South Dartmouth in 1977 along with her daughter and husband.

In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as a stitcher for many years. She was a devout catholic and a communicant of St. Mary's Church. She was an active member of the Westport Council on Aging. She enjoyed going to Foxwoods, dancing, shopping, knitting, sewing, crocheting, arts and crafts watching soccer, football and most of all spending time with her family. She enjoyed vacationing and spending time with her grandchildren Thomas and Allison Wood.

She is survived by her daughter Lucia M. Wood and son in law Thomas N. Wood III of Westport with whom she resided with, Olinda Calheta and son-in-law Joe Calheta of Westport, three sisters; Olinda Pires, Maria Gomes both of Danbury, CT, Izaura Longo of Portugal, five grandchildren: Allison Wood and Thomas N. Wood IV of Westport, Dion and Cristy Calheta, and Kendra Bigos, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Arthur and Eduardo Hilario.

Her Funeral will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 9:30AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth, MA. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30AM in St. Mary's Church, 783 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth MA Mass will be officiated by a dear close friend of the family Father James Chichetto.
