Bike for a cause

Aug 22, 2018

The South Coast Bikeway Alliance (SCBA) is holding its first regional bike-ride fundraiser, Pedal for the Path, on Sunday, September 16, beginning and ending at the Running Brook Vineyard at 335 Old Fall River Rd. in Dartmouth. The 52 mile ride around the South Coast, starting at 8 a.m., with ice cream stops beginning at 9, will help raise money for an engineering feasibility study for a multi-use South Coast Bikeway stretching from Swansea to Wareham.

Dartmouth, New Bedford, and Westport will be studied, while sections of the path have already been completed in Fall River, Fairhaven, New Bedford, and Mattapoisett. Rider support will be provided by Yesteryear Cyclery.

After the ride, Running Brook Vineyard will host the Mid-Life Crisis band, food trucks, and serve beer from the Moby Dick Brewery, and, of course, Running Brook Wine from 1 to 5 p.m.
