A Bikes Not Bombs event, to gather bicycles for people in need, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18 at South Dartmouth Congregational Church, 17 Middle St.

Bikes in any condition will be collected to be distributed to the organization’s international partners in Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa.

Some bikes collected by the organization are repurposed through youth programs that teach bike safety and mechanic skills. These teens can then keep the bikes to increase their mobility.

At the Sept. 18 event, bikes, accessories, tools and parts will be collected. A $20 donation per bike is requested to defray the cost of shipping the bikes and parts.
