Bishop Stang celebrates the season of giving

Jan 7, 2025

This holiday season the Bishop Stang High School community came together for a series of giving events.

To support My Brother’s Keeper, the school hosted a toy drive, to which students donated items, including books, board games and stuffed animals. Educators were encouraged to donate diapers, toddler toys or gifts for adults. Many families in the Bishop Stang community also donated gift cards and winter accessories.

In early November, the community donated gently used winter coats and accessories to Walt’s Mobile Closet. Students organized, sorted and bagged about 80 pounds of warm winter gear to help keep people on the South Coast warm, according to the school.

The toy drive ended with a Christmas prayer service on Wednesday, Dec. 18 where all the toys were blessed before being delivered. With the donations, My Brother’s Keeper served more than 3,000 families, the school said.
