Before heading to Newport's Belle Mer for prom night on May 26, Bishop Stang's senior class gathered at the school for a red carpet-style sendoff.

Dressed in tuxedos and prom dresses, each couple met on stage in the gymnasium before walking down a runway lined with parents, family, and fellow students. After the short walk, students' minds shifted to their nighttime plans.

Bobby Gervasi is no stranger to dance, and together with his date Bella Shields, he had high hopes for his abilities on the dance floor.

"We're going to kill it tonight," he said.

Others, like Carli Rita, looked forward to the last big night out with her class.

"I just can't wait to be with my friends and celebrate our senior year," Rita said.
