Bishop Stang students will explore Portugal in new global learning experience

Mar 9, 2025

Bishop Stang Students are set to travel far and wide with the new Spartan Global Academy program, which will take them to Portugal in April 2026.

“The Spartan Global Academy is a unique opportunity for Bishop Stang students to have rich and diverse cultural experiences,” said Principal Dan Dias. “Our program will expose them to different languages, cultures, traditions and history. This experience will be tremendously beneficial in our ever-changing world.”

Students will explore the Portuguese cities of Lisbon and Porto during the trip, creating a full academic immersion experience.

Prior to the trip, the students will complete coursework and research projects related to Portuguese culture.

“It will give students the opportunity to immerse themselves in a community and culture that they have learned about or are interested in exploring,” said Stephanie Silva, program director for Spartan Global Academy. “I am excited to have this opportunity to share my culture and explore Portugal with the students.”

Students who are juniors or seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher are eligible to participate.
