The 49th annual Buzzards Bay Regatta will be hosted by the New Bedford Yacht Club in Padanaram Harbor this weekend, Aug. 5, 6 and 7.

The race course will take sailors from all over New England on a southerly course into Buzzards Bay.

A post-race dinner featuring music will be held on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Races will be held for multiple classes of boat, including Performance Handicap Racing Fleet (PHRF) racers and cruisers, New England Multihull Association (NEMA) multihulls, lasers (single-person), 505’s (two-person, single hull), and Formula 18 (two-person catamaran).

The events will kick off at 11 a.m. on Friday with the Dick Fontaine Memorial Distance Race featuring NEMA multihulls and PHRF classes.

On Saturday, a PHRF/ Multihull race will be held at 11 a.m. and a laser race will be held at noon.

On Sunday, an all-classes race will be held at 11 a.m. followed by an awards ceremony when racing is complete.

Free mooring accommodations will be available on a first-come-first-served basis for entrants.
