Aug 25, 2016

The Dartmouth High varsity football team began its preseason training on August 19, and uses a variety of conditioning exercises to get in shape for the new football season. Below is a day's worth of conditioning exercises. Give it a try:

Dynamic Warm-Ups

The team spends between 10-20 minutes performing warm-ups, including active stretching exercises.

Circuit Training

The Dartmouth Indians enter their workout with a 10-minute circuit training session. Players alternate between seven exercises, including push-ups, sit-ups, vertical jumps, figure eights, burpees, dips and step-ups.

Agility Stations

The team runs through agility stations covering bag drills - moving between set obstacles at high speed, sprinting and switching direction and rolling and diving, for about 20 minutes.

25-Yard Dash

Perhaps the toughest part of the Indians training day: A dash from the end zone to the 25-yard line and back, repeated 12 times. Before changing direction, team members must touch the yard line with their hand.
