Carl David Bazinet, 64

Aug 21, 2023

Carl David Bazinet, 64, of Summet Grove in North Dartmouth, passed away while sleeping, on Monday, July 17, 2023, in his lifelong home.

Born at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, he was the son and second child of Wilfred and Jeannette Bazinet, and the second generation of French Canadian immigrants from Plessisville and Saint Anne des Monts on the Gaspé Peninsula, Quebec, Canada.

Carl attended 4 years of Vocational School, majoring in welding and 2 years in Tooling and Machinery. Over the course of 40 plus years he was employed by Varian/Extrion of Gloucester, Antenna Associates of Brockton, Cape Cod Customized Carts of Wareham, AFC Cable Systems of New Bedford, Wrobel Engineering of Avon, and Gill Metal Fabricators, Inc. of Brockton. He was certified for all types of welding and ISO approved for all aspects of a project.

He executed final field testing to acquire the approval from the US Government for their Radar Antenna's that he created and are now installed on Airplane Carriers and Destroyers. His drive, talent, ingenuity and creativity in his field was exceptional and it was his life's work and pride. He always wanted to be and would have been a wonderful instructor to teach welding to a new generation of "Trades Persons".

He loved the crisp days of autumn and the snow of winter. All of nature was a comfort to him including his family dog, Garçon. Driving his own vehicle was such a pleasure for him. There were happy memories of attending concerts in his youth and playing hockey. In later years it was golf, skiing and skimobiling. He had a green thumb and experimented with his own garden cucumbers and tomatoes to create unique pickle and relish recipes. He was devoted to his parents and in later years to his mother, Jeannette. He had a very sensitive and loyal character.

Survivors include a sister, Denise Adele Bazinet, and a brother-in-law, Han Keizer, both of Dedham and many maternal cousins and lifelong friends. We hoped for so many more years with him and our hearts are broken from this loss.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11:00am in St. George Church, 12 Highland Ave., Westport.
