Chamber music concert to honor Beethoven

The next concert in the South Coast Chamber Music Series will be held on January 26, and will feature the works of Ludwig van Beethoven.

The concert, which will be held at 4 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, will include a celebration of Beethoven’s works fo Beethoven’s 250th birthday year.

The musicians of the South Coast Chamber Music Series will perform his Second Symphony for piano trio, with the G Major violin and piano sonata of 1803.

It was originally dedicated to Tsar Alexander I, and was Beethoven’s way of honoring the traditions of Mozart and Haydn while gently “rocking the boat.”

The C Minor Quartet, Op. 18, No. 4 will close the program.

The concert will feature Jesse Holstein on violin, EmmaLee Holmes-Hicks on violin, Anna Griffis on viola, Leo Eguchi on cello, and Janice Weber on piano.

Tickets are $20 at the door or online at nbsymphony.org. St. Peter’s Church is located at 351 Elm St.
