Connecticut man arrested in connection with Dartmouth hotel stabbing

A Connecticut man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing at the Residence Inn on Faunce Corner Road on August 10.

Tyreke Brooks, 26, of Manchester, CT, is facing an assault and battery with a dangerous weapon charge in connection with the stabbing of a 30-year-old Connecticut man, whose name has not been released. 

According to police, the stabbing was reported at 12:13 a.m. Police responded to a report of a disturbance at the hotel, and found a 30-year-old man who was stabbed during an earlier altercation with a coworker. 

Police say Brooks and the victim were both staying at the hotel as part of a work crew. 

Brooks initially fled the scene, but was taken into custody after returning to the hotel at around 8 a.m.

The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, but he was sent to Rhode Island Hospital to receive further treatment. 

In addition to the assault and battery with a dangerous weapon charge, Brooks had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
