Seventy-nine cyclists traveling 430 miles in the 2024 Tour des Trees will be stopping in Dartmouth among a few other towns to plant trees.

The ride, which raises money for the Tree Research and Education Endowment Fund, begins in Stamford, Connecticut on Monday, Sept. 23 and ends in Providence on Friday, Sept. 27.

Cyclists will join together at Apponagansett Park at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27 to plant one of the ride’s seven trees.

The fund is a nonprofit aimed at supporting scientific discovery and sharing new knowledge in the fields of arboriculture and urban forestry, with the ride serving as its main fundraising and community outreach event.
