May 5, 2017

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's athletic department awarded Dartmouth Community Television for outstanding service on May 1.

The DCTV team was presented with the John Frye Athletic Service Award — given to those who provide outstanding service to the university's athletic department and its student-athletes — at the department's annual athletics banquet.

For nearly 20 years, DCTV has provided coverage for various sporting events complete with a multi-camera setup, graphics, replay, and pre- and post-game shows. DCTV has also recently expanded their role in the UMass Dartmouth athletic department by streaming games live via corsairathletics.com and including UMass Dartmouth spring sports in their coverage.

The station also provides placement for work-study students who assist with university productions.

The DCTV team includes Peter Chasse, Michael Fernandes, Paul Santos, Dr. Cynthia Marland, Jim Thompson, Derek Frates, Paul Brasells, John Cabral, Michael Moniz, Rick Jalbert, Bill Young, and Ed Wiley.
