Dartmouth High athletes sign commitment letters for college sports

Dartmouth High School student athletes signed letters of commitment to play sports this fall at colleges throughout New England.

At a ceremony held at Dartmouth High School June 5, seven students took their turn in the spotlight as they made their plans official to continue their sports 

Lucas Batista will be playing boys soccer at University of Massachusetts at Boston. 

“This past year wasn’t what I wanted it to be but I made the most of it.,’’ he said, referencing the challenges of Covid restrictions. But overall, he said, playing in Dartmouth has been “a good experience.’’

Hannah Bouvier will play girls softball at Gordon College.  

She said she was sorry to have had to miss out on her senior year sports but “the first three years were awesome.’’

Samara Turgeron committed to playing girls softball at Lasell University.

The year off made things “interesting,’’ she said, but overall she had “a lot of fun.’’

Cole Pimental, will be playing basketball at Curry College.

“The best time I ever had was playing at Dartmouth High School,’’ he said.

Kyleigh Wheaton will play girls soccer at Western New England University.

Playing at Dartmouth High School was, she said, a “very enjoyable experience, especially playing alongside my friends I’ve known for years.’’
