Next month, the Dartmouth High Theater Company will put on a production of “Shrek the Musical,” based on the 2001 DreamWorks animated film of the big green ogre.

Similar to the film, the musical follows Shrek as his solitude in his swamp is disrupted by a caravan of classic fairy-tale characters such as Pinnocchio appear on his property following their banishment by the evil Lord Farquaad.

Shows will be held May 5 and 6 at 7 p.m. and May 7 at 1 and 7 p.m. at the Dartmouth High auditorium located at 555 Bakerville Road.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students/seniors.
