Dartmouth man arrested after two-car Chase Road collision

Two people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries on Friday, Dec. 9 after a two-car collision on Dartmouth’s Chase Road left them trapped inside their vehicle, according to Dartmouth Police.

Emergency crews responded to the head-on collision at about 5 p.m., where they eventually extricated two people from a 2015 Nissan Altima and transported them to the hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle — identified as Jacob Thomas, 19, of Chase Road — was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of drugs, having an open container of marijuana in a motor vehicle, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to stay within marked lanes, according to police.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Dartmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit.
