Dartmouth police arrest man for fentanyl trafficking

Dartmouth Police Department detectives arrested a Fall River man on Route 6 in Dartmouth on Saturday on charges related to a narcotics investigation.

Justin Griffey, 35, of 193 Albion Street, Fall River was taken into custody for allegedly trafficking fentanyl and other drugs.

Detectives seized 79 grams of suspected Fentanyl with a street value of about $4,000 and 2.5 grams of cocaine during the operation, which took place along the motel strip of State Road.

Along with the narcotics, detectives also seized $722 in U.S. currency, cutting agent, and digital scales.

Griffey was charged with trafficking Fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and numerous motor vehicle offenses.

Police Chief Brian P. Levesque commented, “As part of our uncompromising and continued dedication of ridding Dartmouth of these dangerous peddlers of death, this is the fourth drug related arrest that detectives have made in the past two days.”

The police did not wish to comment on the other drug arrests at this time.
