A Dartmouth resident has been named senior vice president and chief consumer banking officer at a Rhode Island-based bank, according to a Sept. 30 press release.

Centreville Bank President, CEO and Chairman of the Board Harold Horvat announced this week that Cynthia Lariviere of Dartmouth was chosen for the executive positions.

According to the release, in her new role, Lariviere is responsible for the direction of all consumer and business banking initiatives including oversight of the retail branch networks in Rhode Island and Connecticut, residential lending and operations, the bank’s investment program, and expansion of business and government banking efforts.

“Cindy’s extensive banking background with national, regional and community banks makes her an ideal fit for Centreville, particularly as we continue to expand our operation,” said Horvat. “With our new Warwick branch and Providence loan production office now open, a second Cranston branch expected to be operational by the end of this year, and our expansion into Connecticut through Putnam Bank, Cindy will play a pivotal role in implementing our ongoing, customer-focused mission  to provide consumers, businesses and municipalities with the products and services they need, while ensuring a great customer experience.”

Lariviere has more than 25 years’ experience in retail banking including time spent at large financial institutions and community banks in Massachusetts. Most recently, she was executive vice president and regional president for Southern and Western New England for Santander Bank. Lariviere also held senior positions with Bank of America, and local community banks.

Lariviere earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Becker College in Worcester and a master’s degree in Compliance and Ethics from New England College in Boston.
