BankFive President and CEO Anne P. Tangen of Dartmouth has been elected to the 20-member Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Bankers Association.

Founded in 1905, the Massachusetts Bankers Association is the only association representing FDIC-insured community, regional and nationwide banks serving consumer and business clients across the Commonwealth.

“As a dynamic industry, it is essential that the association have perspectives of banking leaders like Anne who provide expertise and experience that enable us to achieve our priorities of providing exceptional resources, advocacy and thought leadership for our members, strengthening them as they serve their clients and communities,” Massachusetts Bankers Association President and CEO Kathleen Murphy said. “The market knowledge that Anne brings enables the association to anticipate and respond to emerging banking needs and trends that help our members as they serve an extensive consumer and business footprint across the Commonwealth.”

Tangen said that she is “honored to serve on the Board of Directors for our industry’s association, which has represented the interests and needs of large and small banks across Massachusetts for 118 years. BankFive is thrilled to take a leadership role at the association, and we look forward to sharing the perspective of a community bank as the association continues to tackle the major issues facing the industry.”
