Dog licenses due March 1
Dog licenses are due by March 1. Licenses that are issued after the due date are subject to a late fee of $5 per month. Failure to obtain a dog license will result in a fine of $50 per month.
The cost for a dog license is $12 per fixed dog and $20 per unfixed dog. To be licensed, dogs must have a current rabies certificate.
Dog owners may apply for the license by mail by providing the following a current rabies certificate, a check made payable to the Town of Dartmouth and a return addressed envelope including postage. The town requests that those mailing in a license include his or her phone number on the check.
No fee will be charged for any individual dog license if the dog owner is at least 70 years old and submits to the Town Clerk government-issued documentation demonstrating age. Documentation in support of a reduced price or fee must be provided to the Town Clerk at the time that the license is issued.
