Donation will help the Dartmouth Cultural Center build its classrooms
The Dartmouth Cultural Center is getting a big boost from Walmart.
On December 6, Dartmouth Walmart’s Alice McCarthy stopped by the Center’s 404 Elm Street building to deliver a $2,500 donation to the nonprofit arts center.
The donation will fund the purchase of tables and chairs which will be used for programming at the center, located inside the Olde Southworth Library.
Cultural Center officials had reached out to the Walmart Foundation, the charitable arm of Walmart, after a lack of furniture meant the center’s unfinished basement area was being left unused.
The new furniture was recently utilized for the recent Padanaram Chamber Festival.
To date, more than 100 classes have been held at the Olde Southworth Library in the first year of programming.
