Donors offset low turnout at library fundraiser

The Southworth Library was supposed to have its Mini-Golf event in February, but the weather didn't permit.

"The weather was just too bad," said Dartmouth Library Foundation, Inc.'s Wendy Garf-Lipp, of plans to hold the indoor event earlier in the year.

Fast forward to May, and sunny skies likely kept people outdoors and out of the library for Saturday night's adult mini-golf game and Sunday's day for the kids, but Garf-Lipp said the generosity of some local businesses and individuals helped make the event a success.

"We will make some money out of the event," she said, which featured winding, miniature golf-style holes wrapping through the numerous aisles of the branch.

Proceeds from the event will help the library buy items it otherwise would not be able to purchase.
