Eugene "Gene” Medeiros III, 84, of Dartmouth, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Clifton Rehabilitation Nursing Center in Somerset. He was the husband of the late Grace Anne (Hammond) Medeiros.

Born in Dartmouth, he was a son of the late Eugene “James” Medeiros II and Amelia Moniz (Soares) Medeiros.

Mr. Medeiros served in the United States Army.

He was employed as a truck driver for Medeiros & Sons Construction in Dartmouth until his retirement. Gene enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, tinkering in his yard, riding his John Deere and being in the company of family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Brenda L. Neally and husband Jim of Keokuk, IA, Gene Medeiros of Somerset, Karen Loiselle and husband Mark of Seekonk and Pamela J. Leary and husband John of Brockton; his step-children, Janice A. Alston and husband Ed of Taunton and Sue Ellen Hammond of New Bedford; his brothers, Gilbert Medeiros, Donald Medeiros and wife Sue and Walter Medeiros and wife Linda all of Dartmouth; his sister-in-law, Carol Medeiros; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Richard Medeiros.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 10am-1pm with a Celebration of Life at 1pm in the Waring-Sullivan home at 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth.
