The Dartmouth Friends of the Elderly and Dartmouth Wanderers are now accepting nominations to honor those age 85 and over.

The “Yesterday’s Children: Wisdom of our Elders” event will honor those who have made an impact on their communities throughout their lives.

First held two years ago, the event honored 12 people over the age of 90 who have made lasting impacts. The event is now being brought back at a new venue: Rachel's Lakeside.

Anyone can nominate a person to be honored at the event. Nomination forms are available at the Council on Aging, Town Clerk’s Office, and Southworth Library. Nominations are due by May 1, and must be submitted to the Friends of the Elderly, PO Box 87113, Dartmouth, MA, 02748.

The event is scheduled for August 18 at 12 noon, and will included a catered lunch. Tickets to the event for those nominated are free; all others the cost of the meal is $20 per person.
