Friends of Dartmouth Libraries to host annual film series virtually
Friends of the Dartmouth Libraries will once again host its annual Molly Little Art Film Series on Tuesdays in January and February from 11 a.m. to noon — but this time, it’s virtual.
Now in its 31st year, the popular winter film series will take place online instead of at the Southworth Library, so attendees can watch each session’s two 30-minute films from home.
And this year’s series on “Dutch and Italian Painting of the Golden Age 1600-1750” will be presented by Dr. Memory Holloway, art historian and UMass Dartmouth Professor Emerita, who will accompany the films with a live lecture and audience discussion.
Golden Age artists include Rembrandt, Vermeer, Reubens and Caravaggio.
The series is free and will take place over Zoom from Jan. 19 through Feb. 23. Pre-registration is required at www.tinyurl.com/DartmouthML21.
The schedule is as follows:
Jan 19 Life & Art in the 17th Century
Jan 26 Looking at Rembrandt
Feb 2 Looking at Vermeer
Feb 9 Reubens & Caravaggio
Feb 16 Looking at Caravaggio
Feb 23 Reflections
