Ghostly photos of the Gidley School as it's demolished

Photographer Noah Anthony snapped these ghostly photos of the former Gidley Elementary School as demolition was underway. The school closed in 2007 after 85 years of service.
Town Meeting voters approved the demolition of the school last October. Demolition officially began on April 4, and is expected to take three weeks.
Town officials put the building up for sale in 2012, but asbestos-containing floor tiles and extensive amounts of lead paint scared off potential buyers. As the building costs the town $20,000 a year to maintain and is a liability, the decision was made to seek voter approval to demolish it.
It is the planned site for a new police station.
