Girl Scout Cookie season is here
Girl Scout Cookies season is back and in full swing, which means Girl Scouts on the South Coast are braving the chilly temps and selling their famous cookies outside some of the busiest shopping destinations in Dartmouth, including the Wal-Mart on State Road.
New Bedford-based Troop 76110 set up shop on Saturday, Jan. 20, with Cadet Ayla Barboza dressing as an axolotl to attract customers. Troop leader Kyla Walecka provided support for the operation.
Walekca said the troop requests charity donations alongside the cookie sales every year, and this year requested donations to a veterans food pantry. During the holidays, they donated to a family in need for Christmas.
Dartmouth-based Troop 67087 set up on Jan. 11 in the same location to sell their cookies.
