The Dartmouth girls basketball team’s season came to a close Friday, March 7 after the girls lost to Whitman-Hanson Regional High School 43-48 in the Elite 8 round.

“It was one of those games that could go either way, and it didn’t go our way,” Head Coach Brian Jalbert said.

Jalbert said the team “got off to a poor start” and ended up using most of their energy to turn the game around.

“We ran out of gas,” he said.

Last year the girls made it to the Sweet 16 round, but ended their season there with a loss against Whitman-Hanson as well.

“At the end of the day, we didn’t turn it over as much,” Jalbert said, adding that it had been a close game.

The team ended its season with a record 20 wins and three losses.
