Buy a tree, hop on for a hayride and enjoy a farm-made lunch at this month’s Open Farm Day at Round the Bend Farm Saturday, Sept. 21.

The Open Farm Day, which occurs on the third Saturday of the month, will operate under normal hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 92 Allens Neck Road, but with a few additions this time around.

There will be a hayride at 10:30 a.m. that will take riders around Round the Bend Farm’s new orchard and its Manifest Love gardens, which feed approximately 150 families each week from May to December. Reserve a spot for the ride on the online shop before space runs out.

Elements Learning Collaborative will also be hosting a pawpaw workshop at 11 a.m. during the event. The free, hands-on workshop is for kids of all ages who want to learn about the native pawpaw plant. Taste tests are also available.

With fall being the best time to plant trees, Round the Bend will also be selling some of its potted nursery trees and plants, including chestnuts, oaks, willows, apples, cherries and more.
