Hear about a summer with the ospreys at the Paskamansett Bird Club

Join the Paskamansett Bird Club for its first meeting of the year, with guest speaker Pamela Lowell, a club member, local author and water color artists.
Lowell will present on her latest book, “My Summer with Ospreys,” which combines her observations and personal experiences as a volunteer for Mass Audubon the South Coast Osprey Nest Monitoring Project on the Westport River at Allen’s Pond.
Her presentation will include explanations accompanied by photographs of checking the nests, counting eggs and banding the chicks and a rare video of day-old osprey chicks. She will also give a demonstration of banding with audience participation and describe translocation of chicks for the Illinois Translocation Project.
The meeting will take place Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Friends Meeting House, located at 594 Smith Neck Road.
Lowell’s book will be for sale and she will be available for book signing.
