Here's how Dartmouth winds down the summer

Dartmouth Public Schools are scheduled to start session on September 1, so many families took the last full weekend of summer vacation to enjoy Dartmouth’s beaches, parks, and downtown areas.
"I’m just enjoying the last bit of summer I can get," said Melissa Miller as she enjoyed a quiet day of relaxing on the beach at Apponagansett Park.
Others took to the water in kayaks to enjoy the day. Russells Mills Landing was a popular spot to find kayakers launching into and returning from the Slocum River.
"I hate to see the summer wind down, but it's gorgeous out today," said Alita Marks after enjoying a day of kayaking along the Slocum River with her husband Jim Spears.
