Here's what the Council on Aging has planned for April

The Dartmouth Council on Aging will be hosting a full schedule of virtual and socially distanced events/activities this April. Here’s what’s coming up next month.

SHINE Medicare Info sessions

Insurance counselor Christie Rexford, the SHINE Program regional director, will host two sessions going over Medicare options for seniors on April 8 and 15 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Covid-19 Coping Support Group

Starting April 7, the COA, in collaboration with MassSupport, will host weekly virtual group sessions for those affected by the pandemic.

The sessions will be held over Zoom every Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. For more information, contact Nancy at the center at

On April 15, the center will host a hearing clinic from 10 a.m. to noon by appointment only. To learn more, the COA recommends watching a recently filmed overview of the clinics by Dartmouth Community Media on Channel 18.

Red Cross blood drive hosted by the Dartmouth Council on Aging

The American Red Cross will host a blood drive at the Dartmouth Council on Aging on April 29 from 9 am. to 2 p.m. Appointments can be made in advance by calling 1 (800) 733-2767 or by visiting redcrossblood.org and entering “Dartmouth COA.”

Library to go

Dartmouth Libraries and the COA will now assist with home delivery and pick up of library materials. To get started, call the Southworth Library at (508) 999-0726  or the North Branch Library at (508) 999-0728.

Legal advice

For other legal advice, the COA will host consultations with elder law attorney Brandon Walecka on April 8 from 10 to 11 a.m. by appointment only.

Zoom Room at the Center
