Here's what you need to know about state primaries
The Massachusetts state primary election will be held on September 8, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The positions up for primary voting includes the Representative in Congress for the Ninth District of Massachusetts, the Councillor for the First District, the state senator for the Second Bristol and Plymouth District, the state representative for the Ninth District, Bristol County Sheriff, and Bristol County Commissioners.
On the Democratic ballot, William Keating is running for Representative in Congress, Joseph C. Ferreira for the First District Councillor, Mark C. Montigny for state senate, Christopher Markey for state representative, Paul B. Kitchen and John R. Mitchell for County Commissioners, and Thomas M. Quinn, III for District Attorney.
On the Republican ballot, there is a contested race for Representative in Congress between Mark C. Alliegro and Thomas Joseph O'Malley, Jr. Thomas M. Hodgson is up for election for the Bristol County Sheriff position.
Dartmouth has nine voting precincts: Precincts No. 1 and 3 votes at the Dartmouth Bible Church, 52 Morton Avenue. Precinct No. 2 votes at the Smith Mills Church Hall, 11 Anderson Way. Precinct No. 4 votes at The Residence at Cedar Dell, 628 Old Westport Road. Precinct No. 5 votes at Town Hall, 400 Slocum Road, Precinct No. 6 votes at the Senior Citizen Center, 628 Dartmouth Street, Precinct No. 7 votes at the DYAA’s Crapo Field, 225 Russells Mills Road. Precinct No. 8 votes at the Southworth Library, 732 Dartmouth Street. Precinct No. 9 votes at the District No. 2 Engine House, 1100 Russells Mills Road.
